The shamrock (a three leaf clover) in Victorian Jewellery symbolised faith, hope and love and was widely used as an emblem of Irish national pride and heritage. It was also a popular motif for good fortune and prosperity.

The shamrock was also a common motif in sentimental jewellery, given as a token of affection, well wishes and faithfulness to a loved one.

The shamrock was also believed to bring good fortune, protection and positive karma to the wearer. So many lovely meanings for this beautiful little brooch!
