This is a gorgeous Mid 19th Century foil-back garnet, split pearl and hairwork mourning brooch.

Weight: 3.4grams

Condition: With some surface scratches, surface abrasions, surface pitting and minor denting to the reverse. Evidence of a repair, due to soft solder visible. The garnets appear medium to dark orangish-red to purplish-pink, well saturated with some minor abrasions to facet edges, surface scratches and few with chips. One with fracture and orange adhesive visible. Split pearls with typical surface blemishes and some nacre damage.
