Stunning 18ct gold, emerald and old-cut diamond ring. Beautifully clear hallmarks showing the makers mark (CS * FS) for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings-Frank-Shepherd, marks for 18carat gold and year mark, a leopards head for London and a U to signify that the ring was hallmarked in 1915. Saunders and Shepherd was a highly successful firm founded in London in 1869 with branches opening in Birmingham and Chester. They continue to manufacture jewellery and watch cases in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter today.
