This is a stunning 19th Century foil-backed garnet and marcasite brooch.

Condition: With some surface scratches, minor surface abrasions and surface discolouration. The garnets appear medium red to pinkish red, very well saturated with some minor abrasions to facet edges and surface scratches, The marcasite appears fairly bright, some with surface abrasions.
