Wonderful Early 20th Century Gold and Turquoise Crescent Brooch

This is a wonderful Early 20th Century gold and turquoise crescent brooch. Crescent moon brooches in victorian and Edwardian times symbolised femininity, empowerment and change often representing the Roman moon goddess Diana. They were frequently gifted on honeymoons, which led to the nickname "honeymoon brooch", it signified new beginnings, fertility.

Condition: General light marks, wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Turquoise with some discolouration and light abrasion.
