Wonderful Late 19th Century 15ct Gold Swallow Bar Brooch

This is a wonderful Late 19th Century 15ct gold swallow bar brooch. Stamped 15ct. Swallows in jewellery symbolised enduring love, loyalty and a safe return. Because swallows mate for life, they represent fidelity and steadfastness. Often given as parting gifts to loved ones embarking on long journeys, carrying the romantic statement of "I will return to you". I wonder when and in what circumstances this beautiful brooch was given? I wonder if they did return and where from? A war, a sailor? The brooch holds these secrets. This would make a very romantic gift to a loved one.
